About the Owner

Dr. Devon Turnbull, PT, DPT, CertDN

Devon is a native to Phoenix, Arizona and has treated clients all over the Valley. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University, and with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Northern Arizona University.

She practiced for several years in outpatient orthopedics, treating a majority of older and active adults. Some of these people expressed difficulties driving to physical therapy 2-3 times per week, and were also fearful of having to move into assisted living due to their physical ailments; their situations inspired Devon to create Elevate PT and Wellness in order to provide more personalized and evidence-based quality care to her clients.

By conducting treatment sessions in patients' homes, Devon is able to provide one-on-one care that is not only convenient, but also more functional for her clients. She is passionate about helping aging adults restore their quality of life and age safely at home.

Why Choose Elevate PT and Wellness?

It's all about TIME

Drive Time

Most patients are required to drive to physical therapy 2-3 times per week. Instead of fighting traffic, scheduling rides, and worrying about being a burden on loved ones, we come to you!

Quality Time

As a client with Elevate, you have the opportunity to work exclusively with a PT for your entire session (at an outpatient clinic, therapists usually have multiple patients to manage at one time). MORE dedicated time with a PT who is attentive to your needs means you spend LESS time in pain and LESS time being limited in your daily life.

Fun Time

Our style allows us to identify, treat and fix the cause of your pain or limitation much quicker compared to a traditional clinic. This allows you to return to your community, social life, and family quicker to enjoy life!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a physician’s referral?

No. Arizona is a "direct access" state, meaning you do not need a referral from a physician to have physical therapy.

Why don't you accept my insurance? Is it possible to save money in the long run this way?

After careful consideration, we decided not to take insurance in order to provide our clients with the best care possible. We believe that insurance should not dictate our treatment methods or how often we treat you. However, insurance may reimburse you, depending on your plan. In these cases, we can assist you with submitting proper documentation to your insurance company to receive reimbursement. We firmly believe that you deserve specialized care in the way we see best fit.

Our business model is built around patient care. Each client receives one-on-one care and hands on treatment during every visit. Most mobile visits are 60 minutes to optimize each treatment session. When you consider the time savings of a mobile PT coming to you- fewer trips to a clinic and the benefit for resolving your pain faster then average- then the private pay expense at Elevate Physical Therapy is well worth the value. We also accept HSA/FSA cards!

Does it make sense to use a cash-based PT for my needs?

Costs are dependent on what you need. We can discuss payment options and find out what will work best for you to keep you doing the things you love. Your cost per visit may be higher, but you will have the benefit of working 1:1 with a physical therapist for the entire session and will very likely require less total visits compared to a typical clinic, saving you money in the long run. Many of our clients have been successful at receiving partial/full reimbursement from their insurance company, and they can also use their HSA/FSA.

At a typical outpatient physical therapy clinic, 2-4 patients are scheduled within an hour for cost purposes. This leaves therapists 15-30 minutes to work with a patient. Since patients almost never have the benefit of working with their PT the entire time in an outpatient clinic, quality of care usually suffers in these instances and they require more time to progress and show improvement.

With our model of care, all of your sessions will have personalized one-on-one treatment. This allows for a much greater level of feedback and continual modification of treatment programs as needed. Just look at our reviews on the homepage to understand the difference!
